Join the Beginners Landscape Photography Workshop at Scott Tilley Photography to elevate your skills in capturing the beauty of nature. Set in the stunning Peak District, including Padley Gorge, this workshop offers expert tuition tailored for novices eager to enhance their landscape photography techniques. Immerse yourself in a supportive community while discovering the secrets of breathtaking compositions and stunning scenery. If you have always wanted to have a go at Landscape Photography but don’t know where to start this could be the workshop for you. On the 3rd of October 2026 I will be leading a small Workshop (maximum four people) and guiding you through the essential skills you need to move you forward with your landscape photography. We will meet at the Surprise view car park at 9am and make our way down into Padley Gorge. Here we will spend our time looking at the numerous compositions available here with classic shots around Burbage Brook as well as discarded millstones and twisted oak. If time permits we can range further to other locations within walking distance. We will cover topics such as the camera controls best suited to creative landscape photography for the particular composition you have set up. Composition the rules/guidelines and when to break them. Leading the viewer through the image to the point of interest. How a scene can overwhelm your viewer and what to do to avoid it. Focus stacking and bracketing and when to use them. Using Filters. Developing your own style. I work with each client individually as trying to talk to a group on mass often ends up satisfying no-one as everyone is at a different position in their photography journey. That way every client should get quality coaching and leave a better landscape photographer than they arrived.
